Let's assume that Haitian people are in the most desperate living condition then they were 20 years before, expecially, after the unexpected and yet suspicious earthquake that happened 8 weeks ago that caused the greatest catastrophic in Haiti history since it became the first black independent country in the world. I think, therefore, there is a great chance there for taking advantage of those who are becoming so so desperate to the point they would do just about anything even kill in other to eat or to survive. So, with that being said, we have some FOREIGNS groups who usually portrait themselves as missionaries in other to do what they want in the country, and the desperation of the people ( NOT FAITH ) are the main reasons why the Christians attacked the Voodooisms. Lately, It has been going on for sometimes now that there have been many efforts by some foreigns groups that trying to eliminate Vodou in Haiti, however they have been unsuccessful. But despite their efforts, instead, recently, vodou seems to have become a more mainstream religious than it was before long ago. For example, young Haitian people are becoming comfortably with the vodou religious in contrast in the early year when Vodou seemed to dwell among old age and poor people who live on the side of the countryside, and usually dealt in secret. Another example, it's through my own self experience in the last two years where I have become kind of profound in listen to Vodou music which I did not used to listen before when I was in Haiti. Also, in 2007, Vodou has been accepted in Haiti as an official religious in the Haitians society and has its own visible temple just like other religious do, and that had sparked some controversies between the Christians, the Vodouism and the Haitian government. The Faith of The Christianity What about the Christian faith, are they really believe in whom they say they serve and preaching about? Well, if so, they would not acted the way they do, because their action is contrast to what they preach about on a first place. If they really have faith, they would have known that is not right to attack and blame the Vodouism for Haiti situation, and, further, they would have enough faith to know exactly why what happened in Haiti is happens; and know how to go about to make things better. According to their actions, they simply show their weakness and not having faith they are and also they putting our great GOD of Jesus Christ down by doing things that he opposed. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&newwindow=1&safe=off&rlz=1G1GGLQ_ENUS366&q=voodoo+attacked+in+Haiti&btnG=Search&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=

This is an interesting artices that explains the true meaning beyond the so-called "Haiti Pact with the Devil", and who those Devils are. Also, why Pat Robertson and the media do not want the world to know and won't talk about: Pat Robertson is a white evangelical Christian taking “liberty” with black people’s oppression. A son and benefactor of America’s white-controlled hierarchy of access to political and economic and religious power. Whose obvious revisionist distortion of Haiti’s true history reveals that he did “not want to talk about it.” Nor did mainstream media, with their momentary on-the-scene coverage of the earthquake’s horrific destruction, want to dig into the related racist ruins of Haiti’s early and recent past. But Haitian activist and political analyst Jean Saint-Vil did “want to talk about it”—and did so before the earthquake led Haiti to cross Robertson’s mind with his passing and dishonoring judgment.
Instead of a “pact to the devil,” Jean Saint-Vil called Haiti’s “uprising against slavery . . . ‘A Giant Step for Mankind—Made in Haiti.’” (godisnotwhite.org, Aug.11, 2009). That “giant step,” Saint-Vil writes, was taken against brutal oppression, which Pat Robertson and mainstream media choose “not . . . to talk about”:
Popes, kings and queens enriched themselves and built vast empires on the profits made with the sweat and blood of kidnapped men, women and children loaded on ships, stacked like sardines and reduced to slavery on plantations of coffee, sugar, cotton, cocoa, all over the Americas[1]. . . . millions of human beings . . . kidnapped, terrorized, thrown to sharks in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. . . . It has been estimated that the population of Africa in the mid 19th century would have been 50 million instead of 25 million had this catastrophe known as the MAAFA [also known as the African Holocaust] not taken place[3].
Following his graphic documentation of the actual “devils,” Jean Saint-Vil then discloses the “giant step for mankind—made in Haiti,” which Pat Robertson and America’s white-controlled dominant press did not talk or write or report about. Saint-Vil states,
It is within such an atmosphere of unparalleled terrorism and human decadence that a remarkable gathering of men and women took place on the small Caribbean island of Haiti, the evening of August 14-15, 1791. Known as the Bwa Kay Iman Ceremony[4], it is said that this revolutionary meeting brought together representatives of twenty-one displaced African nations who vowed to revolt against the powers that had unleashed against their people such a relentless campaign of terror; a genocide that was expertly conceived and implemented, state-sponsored and financed, justified with numerous literary works and blessed by the most powerful and influential religious institutions of the.... DAKAR (Reuters) -- West and Central African singing stars will record a song in early March in the Senegalese capital Dakar to raise money for victims of last month's earthquake in Haiti, the musical project's leader said on Wednesday. More than 200,000 people were killed and a million left homeless when a magnitude 7.0 quake struck the poor Caribbean country on January 12. Since then, a mass of international relief efforts have been launched. In the most recent African aid initiative, dozens of singers, among them internationally known names including Senegalese vocalists Youssou Ndour and Baba Maal, Ivorian reggae artist Alpha Blondy and Congolese musicians Lokua Kanza and Papa Wemba, will gather in Dakar from March 1-6 to record a http://www.members.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/LDE6192HQ.htm
On this comparison chart below, it's shown that the countries Haitians people are counted on the most, are not on the top 10 generous to them. For more information, please click on the chart picture to enlarged and see the whole comparison: Posted on Feb 04, 2010 | Comments 3 The global response to the Haiti earthquake has been extraordinary and generous. But in the midst of all the reporting, it’s difficult to keep track of the numbers. In particular, who has given what, who has dug deepest, and how the Haiti relief fund compares to those of other tragedies. These are the contributions to the Haiti Earthquake recovery effort as of 24th January 2010. The news said Haitian people want foreigners to take over their land, but the news failed to say the REAL REASON for that resignation. As I commented in that articles on newsine.com, I suggested that the article title should have writen: " Because they make Haitians lives so hard, so many Haitians have no other choice than to resign to be under cointrol." There's not much happiness to be ruled LIGALLY by those kind of people, but better than nothing. AS I said before, Haiti has been and constantly ruled and managed ILLIGALLY by foreigners, especially the U.S. They always have their troops in Haiti whether virsually or secretly. Their motive never about helping Haiti to substain normalcy in term to be permanenly depends on its ownself, but other motive, and that is probably to be always seing as Haitians only hope. It is my uinderstanding that If the U.S. will do any REAL good in Haiti, that they could had done longtime ago, it will probably because of people like ME and other rich foreign countries that they are afraid of being criticised by. POOR PEOPLE CHANTING "U.S.A.! U.S.A!" As usualy seeing in the news, especially the U.S.media TV, showing video of some poor countries people screaming out and chanting out lound the U.S.A.! name and cary U.S.A. flag too, and we can seing the smile on the American faces. This is kind of thing that the U.S.like because it's like promoting them. It's like saying to country like Russian, Iran, France, Venezuela, etc. "Hey look!, we got you!"; "The whole world want us". Therefore, if the whole world becoming sufficient to help themselves, U.S. won't get any more praise from many of the poor people nations, so that means a Haiti dependency on the them it's a glory to prove the world they are the richest, the best, or the HERO! U.S. WON'T HELP HAITI REBUILDING! According to the article, American will not help Haiti with rebuilding the country. They said it years ago and they say it now again. But the news on their chanels TV showing different signs. When watch CNN,FOX,etc..they talking about rebuilding Haiti with the U.S. seem to be the in front line with thousands of troops on Haiti groud, but according to a U.S. officials in Haiti says"The military forces . . . are not here to do any reconstruction. That is not our mission," said Col. Rick Kaiser, a U.S. Army engineer. Meanwhile, most Haitian people in Haiti and in U.S. probably believe strongly that their country will soon be either a part of U.S. territory, or will have all the basics, such as roads constructions, 24 hour electricity, housing with running water and toilet inside. In fact, I'm myself that's excatly what I want from all the so-called richest countries to do for us Haitians and Haiti. If they won't do that for Haiti, which they can if they want to, so what else to prove that U.S. is not aim at seing Haiti prosper with their words, action in public one thing and behind the scene is the reality. Before I go let me note that: Haitian people are of many kind. A truly blend of culture and society. Unlike some countries we usually hear being called as multy culture, but physically the reality isn't there, Haiti is definitely is a multy culture. Therefore, not all Hatians looking forward for anything like that anytime soon, especially myself.. In fact, Haiti with all the basics I just mentioned in paragraph 5, could be the best country on earth for many people who looking for a paradise to be. Because when it comes to soialization, despite of all the hard life, Haitians are much more socialized than many people on earth. I have never been socialized like a human being should ever since I left Haiti to U.S. In conclusion, having say that, thereof, a Haiti for Haitians with Haitian people style AND with the basics reconstrution is the best way to go. But better than nothing is always welcome in last resort.
It is ashame that the world have to to group a Petition in other to have Haiti $1 billion debt cancel by some of the world richest countries. And I'm confused because I thought this debt was cancelled last year in July 2009, if I'm not wrong.Anyway, below it's a petition for a cause to help cancel Haiti $1billion debt. Just read it and follow the links below to go the site and sign the petition:
Join the international campaign to convince world leaders to cancel Haiti’s $1 billion international debt and give the country a chance for significant and lasting recovery.
Like millions of people around the world, I've been shocked by the terrible events in Haiti.
Only now is the true scale of the disaster emerging. Reports now suggest as many as 75,000 people may have died, with hundreds of thousands made homeless.
The work ahead to recover from this tragedy is immense. So here's our goal: $1 billion for Haiti. That's how much Haiti owes to the International Monetary Fund, the Inter-American Development Bank, and a handful of others.
Sign the petition below to ask Haiti's creditors to act quickly and cancel Haiti's debts:

As Haiti begins to rebuild we can help by lifting this debt.
Together as ONE we can make a difference!
Thanks!
Maybe I don't understand well what the author is trying to say, but I don't believe the comparison of Haiti and those other countries and state that he referred in this article. Speaking in regard of the Tsunami in India, Hurricane -Katrina in New Orleans and Haiti earthquake Henry Champ quotes: "As with Haiti, there was a huge out-pouring of international relief. But unlike the situation in Haiti, governments were not destroyed, capital cities survived and the politicians knew tourism was their mainstay."So, what I think?
First, unlike many wanna be expects, I believe Haiti is a much better country and that it can be rebuilt easy, secondly, unlike the other countries, Haiti never had a chance for once in a lifetime to have expects in construction, sanitarian, archeologist, etc. to go to Haiti and use the money raised on behalf of Haitian people to build infrastructure, running water inside citizens home, etc..
Gonaives,Haiti last 5 years have been through a lot due to two heavy. The town had flooded and many donations money raised, but no infrastructure, or sanitary process have made.
Gonaives is NOT big, yet unlike the capital city of Haiti, Gonaives city platform is very easy to access and it would not have taken more than 1 or 2 years to have the whole city streets or roads fixed, asphalted, clean. But they didn't even try at all.
I wish I could have a way to find out how much money it really cost for a city size of Gonaives, probably the size of Immokalee,Florida, to have all its streets fixed.
Anyway, Just like the tittle of this article: "It's not about money, but it's staying power". I wish he refers to the U.S. that probably interesting in staying in power over poor Haitians people by maybe paying Haitians so-called leaders to demolish their own country or people, because Haiti IT'S SO EASY TO REBUILD!
Finally, if they really care and really want to rebuild Haiti follow these guidelines: Forget about Port-au-Prince for now and go start in the villages and the other provinces cities in Haiti; than when all get better there, than focus on Port-au-Prince

In my understanding is that the Senegal President wanted to show his support to Haitians people by making an offer for Haitians who want to leave Haiti due to 2 weeks ago earthquake severed catastrophic that destroyed almost half of the country capital and other part of the country. I think that sounds interesting, but impossible to do. First, a country land does matter for its people. Second, economically speaking, Haitians people may not enjoy a much better life as they were in Haiti before the earthquake. Third, be the boss of oneself and feel free is very important in a human life. And, fourth, differences between two different cultures of people may result in violence. Although the offer sounds interesting, but after given thoughts about all of these circumstances, it makes me freaked out. But I honestly truly like the idea of Senegalese president, Mr. Wade, that seems like a good offer in a situation like this. However, Haiti is still standing and showing signs of improvement, so I think Haitians better in their own land for now. And, I also think that Haitians people must considered the offer, especially when I thought that some of the rich countries would have come and rescued most of the Haitians victims on the ground and took them to their countries, but they did not. For that reason, I think the offer was a good offer from Senegal president. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&newwindow=1&q=senegal+offers&aq=f&oq=&aqi=
PADF was one of Yéle’s first partners when we launched in 2005. Our first joint program involved rebuilding 20 of the schools in Gonaives that had been damaged by Tropical Storm Jean in September, 2004. This program was undertaken with support from Foundation Voilà through Yéle, and USAID through PADF. Later that year we went on to partner with PADF in a program called Pwojè Lari Pwòp, or Project Clean Streets, which employed up to 2,800 people a day collecting garbage in Port-au-Prince. That program ran for several years and was sponsored by USAID through PADF. Those familiar with Port-au-Prince during that time will all remember the Clean Streets workers proudly wearing their Yéle Haiti t-shirt uniformRead the story..

Is this estimated from government giving or from private citizens of the country? For example, countries like Sweden have centralized government charity spending – while the US has much less government charity but a vast amount of personal private charity spending.
Ahem…. GO CANADA
The Netherlands broadcasted a nation wide program in which over 80 million euro was collected ( about 100 million usd ). I couldn’t care less about this list but if you post something then better make sure you are correct
